About this Site:     Hit Counter

This site is initially intended as a tool to support the continuing work of the Caseload Analysis Implementation Leadership Forum (ILF); it is secondarily offered as a place where other interested parties may explore the initiative. While the detailed strategic framework can be found elsewhere on this site, and full comprehensive year end reports can be found at the CLA Report Link above, the following summary of our objectives may help orient the reader to the project. Ultimately, we will:

  1. Develop and document a best-practice approach to child protection.

  2. Implement this approach across a broad range of counties.

  3. Prove its efficacy by measuring at multiple levels.

  4. Continuously improve our approach.

  5. Develop and document a framework for implementation that other counties, states, etc. could follow.

Current Organization of the Site

As the ILF moves into its 5th year of collaborative activities, we are redesigning this website to reflect a shift from our earlier "Research Room" design, where the emphasis was on providing categorized storage and ready access to what each individual county was doing in each area of CLA. Now that the ILF has developed and built consensus for several elements of the model, the website will focus first on organizing and providing ready access to the consensus of the collaborative, including its models, materials and training approaches, as well as the generative and iterative work of the development teams. (You can still access the old "Research Room" as well as all of the historical records of the initiative by using the Archive link above, although it will no longer be kept current.)

There are still 2 models which summarize and organize the content of our approach to Case Load Analysis and provide an orienting  framework for presenting this material. The first we simply call, "The Flowchart". It is intended to reflect the non-linear reality of child protection practice in a way that reflects the various values, philosophies and tool sets. The second model we call  "The Pitchfork model"  which is an easy pictorial way of illustrating 13 specific tools within the approach.   You will note that the 13 areas are  grouped into 4 major Categories. The three categories represented by the "Prongs" of the Pitchfork are considered Practice Related, and the one represented by the "Handle" of the Pitchfork is considered Agency Leadership Related

Simply click on the topic you are interested in on either model below  to further explore that element.
