The November ILF agreed on a basic structure for supporting the work that needs to be accomplished by June 1st, 2001. This page will document their decisions. 1. Using Teams We agreed that our work lends itself to a team approach, and further agreed that there are 4 teams that we should utilize: These 4 teams represent 3 specific types of teams: A. The ILF as a team The ILF will play 3 distinct roles: First, it will continue to function as the leadership group, identifying priorities and monitoring progress toward the vision. Second, it will function as a work team, accomplishing specificly defined tasks during its regular meetings and supplemental meetings. Finally, it will function as the center of a working ILF, holding itself and the other teams accountable for the specific objectives that have been set and the commitment made. B. A well organized project team for Data and Measurement Systems Development This team will be formed from appropriate people and will stay together for the forseeable future. Its basic task is to desing and implement the specific measurement systems identified by the ILF. C. Two fast moving Task Team Tracks, 1 for Practice Issues and 1 for Handle Issues. This last type of team will form based on an immediate task at hand as identified by the ILF, complete its work and disband in order that another team of people can form around the next immediate task. There should always be a team running in each track (the Handle Track and the Practice Track). 2. How it will Work The ILF will identify the objectives for each team and then will form the various teams (identify the functions that need to be represented on each team, identify candidates to fill each function, and recruit those candidates). Once formed, the teams will meet as deemed necessary to meet the objectives. Teams will use good team form (agreement circle, project planning, consensus building) and will have a member report their progress against their project plan to each monthly ILF. Each team will be facilitated in order to maximize productivity and coordination with other teams and the ILF.
