Meeting 1 Summary

A. Draft Objective

It is the objective of this team to systematically develop and implement the systems needed to enable cross county measurement of  the effectiveness of various CLA elements as defined and prioritized by the ILF. Measurement Systems generally include:

  1. Mechanism and process for collecting the data (or making it available if it is already being collected). This includes identifying what data we need, where the best collection point is, designing a form or other collection device, and  training the data collectors.
  2. Mechanism and process for compiling, illustrating and disseminating the data. Data generally needs to reveal trends, as well as snapshot data. Data is generally more effective if there is a graphic element (charts and graphs)  in addition to a long list of data. Data should consist of layers that allows for the viewing of the whole, or of each element separately.
  3. Mechanism and process for monitoring the quality of the data being collected and responding to any potential problems.

There are 2 measures ready to be acted on - Risk Assessment Quality and Genograms.

It is our goal to get final approval for the quantitative form and process by the March ILF, and then to implement so that we can look at our first cross county measures by April.

We are also working to get the Risk Assessment Quality instrument, at least the first level, up an running by April.

Meeting 1 Summary

In our first meeting, we determined that since the data for at least the early, quantity-oriented measures for Genograms, ecomaps, and Risk assessments would be collected at the same collection points, we would design a system that accomplished all 3. The ILF has already developed policies for all 3 of these that clearly specify which elements are required and at what points in the process.

Our initial drafts are on the linked pages at the top of this page. There is also a downloadable .pdf adobe file of the 5 page document.

Since this work relates directly to the info on the main page for the Family Assessment prong of the pitchfork, these pages are cross linked with that one.   Family Assessment

Finally, we agreed that we would meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month through June of 2001. Since there are 5 counties represented on this team (Including Portage and Richland) that we needed at least 3 counties present to constitute a quorum.
